Retro Oven Bakery, established in 2014 has served the Tampa Bay area for two years as a wholesale bakery for area coffee shops. In early September, owner Ivana Ivanovic converted a portion of her commercial kitchen into a storefront, serving walk-in customers and special orders. The bakery seats just five, but features an extensive selection of cakes, pastries, scones, cookies, and more.

The bakery, located at 2803 38th Ave N, specializes in European recipes, but features traditional American cakes, keeping them light in sugar and butter. Cakes sell by the slice ($5.50) or by the cake ($50 – $60). Ivana’s menu is ever-changing and she also provides a custom-order service for special events, holidays, birthdays, etc.

“Our passion is gourmet style cakes and dessert. We use only the finest and freshest ingredients to make the best cakes possible for our customers”, says Ivanovic.

A typical menu includes Boem Cake, Retro Cake, a variety of cheesecakes, Tiramisu, Intercontinental Cake, fresh strawberry cake, gluten-free cakes, Hummingbird Cake, coffee and pound cakes, as well as an extensive pastry menu with both sweet and savory. Some pastries include Canadian bacon, cheese, and egg stuffed bread, spinach and cheese pies, almond chocolate croissants, poppy seed and Nutella brioches, old-fashioned apple pies, cookies, and scones, all priced between $2.50 – $3.75. The bakery also bakes bread with five types of flours and six types of seeds which is mostly organic.

The bakery is open Tuesday through Friday 9:00am – 3:30pm and Saturdays 8:00am – 3:00pm. The menu is always fresh, with new recipes weekly. Guests can learn more about Retro Oven Bakery and get an up-to-date menu by visitingwww.facebook.com/retroovenbakery.
